Steve Giles
(He/Him)
Hi, I’m Steve. I’ve been actively involved in lived experience work for some time and feel that it adds value to my life. I applied for the Collaborate to Connect project because I’ve had experiences of co-design that were done well, and done not so well, and I want to use these experiences to help improve the process for the future. I am particularly interested in Housing and NDIS related lived experience work. I enjoy hiking and being in nature, reading non-fiction books (especially about psychology) and watching online lectures to expand my knowledge.
Kathy Greenwood
(She/Her)
Kathy works for the WA Association for Mental Health as Lived Experience Engagement Co-ordinator, and is interested in collaborating with, and learning from, others.
Kathy is hard working but not perfectionistic (it took some therapy to develop that) and practises mindfulness as much as possible. Kathy tries to do a lot of self-care to stay calm and present. Kathy says, “I absolutely love gardening and walking my dog on the beach. I also really enjoy yoga and Netflix! Oh, and I am getting into cooking since I started ordering a weekly organic vegie box!”
Kathy is passionate about fairness, and gets really upset with injustice or corruption and says she honestly wants to see people live their best lives (and look after the planet). Kathy takes pride in her career (all of which she feels has been a huge achievement) and raising her four children, plus one stepson. She says, “they are all legends.”

Coryn Keith
(she/they)
I’ve just completed 18 months of studies thanks to the CoMHWA scholarships, completing both the Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work and Skill Set courses at TAFE. This is a huge achievement for me and I’m truly proud of myself. I’m also a consumer representative with CoMHWA, providing peer and in-reach support on a regular basis. This has helped me to recognise the transformative power of holding space and listening to others, and to support those who feel unseen and unheard. More recently I joined Next Step Integrated Services Committee as a consumer representative, completed the Educator Course with the WA Recovery College, and have attended numerous consumer feedback and co-design groups. Connection is important to me. Although I’ve experienced many horrific things and challenging times in my life during which I faced mental health and substance use issues, I’m a very positive and proactive force who smiles a lot! I love my son, hanging out with loved ones, walking, watching films, writing poems and other stuff, and having a belly-laugh every day!
