CoMHWA represents consumers by engaging in consumer and community consultation throughout the state.
We do this through news and information sharing, forums, consumer events, committees, working groups, focus groups, surveys, connecting with consumer groups and centres, and statewide collaboration and partnership.

CAG’s: Consumer Advisory Groups
Consumer Advisory Groups are consumer groups who bring a voice at service level, local or regional level to advise mental health services on consumer needs and perspectives. CoMHWA hosts a directory, offers group resources and training, and works collaboratively with CAG’s to ensure consumer views are heard and taken forward at a statewide level.
Statewide CAG Network
This Western Australian, statewide network is for mental health CAG’s, CCAG’s and LEAG’s throughout the public and private mental health sector. Learn from other groups around WA, collaborate with members around important issues, create systemic change, and expand your network of peers across the state.
PRISAM: Peer-led, Regionally Informed, Systemic Advocacy Meetings
CoMHWA’s PRISAM group helps us to ensure that we direct our systemic advocacy efforts to address issues facing consumers living in regional and remote locations.
ALEAG: Aboriginal Lived Experience Advisory Group
CoMHWA recognises that a consumer-led organisation is essential to achieving a strong, assertive, independent voice for social changes that reflect the needs and priorities of Aboriginal people and others, with mental health and Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) challenges.
