Call for Members: Aboriginal Lived Experience Advisory Group (ALEAG
Consumers of Mental Health WA (CoMHWA) is inviting Aboriginal people living in country regions of Western Australia with a lived experience of mental health challenges to apply to join our new Aboriginal Lived Experience Advisory Group (ALEAG).
The ALEAG has been established to ensure Aboriginal voices and perspectives are central to the way CoMHWA works. By sharing lived experience and providing advice, members will play an important role in guiding CoMHWA’s advocacy and ensuring Aboriginal consumer needs are represented in mental health systems and services across WA.
Key details:
- Members will receive payment for attending monthly meetings.
- Meetings will be held online via Microsoft Teams, with light catering provided for in-person attendance.
- Applicants will need access to Microsoft Teams to participate in meetings.
As WA’s peak body by and for people with lived experience of mental health issues, CoMHWA recognises that Aboriginal consumer leadership and guidance are essential in building a strong, independent voice for change. The ALEAG will provide CoMHWA with invaluable insight into the current challenges and priorities for Aboriginal people and communities.
