DESCRIPTION:The Listening Lounge Mental Health Peer Support Group – Leederville \nEvent Location: Vincent Community Centre\, Leederville \nThe Listening Lounge is a safe and supportive space where you can share your experiences\, listen to and learn from others\, and connect with peers who have a lived experience of mental health challenges themselves. \nListening Lounge Peer Support Groups are designed to be safe and accepting places for everyone regardless of gender identity\, sexuality\, cultural or religious background\, skin colour\, disability or any other point of difference. We take an active approach to cultural safety and accessibility. Our Group Care Guidelines and Values are designed to ensure that our groups are safe and enjoyable for everyone. \nThe Listening Lounge groups are: \n\nFree\nWeekly\nNo referral needed\nCo-facilitated by two trained peer facilitators with a lived experience themselves\n\nIs this group for me? \nThe Listening Lounge Mental Health Peer Support groups are for: \n\nAdults (aged 18+) who are currently struggling with their mental health OR\nWho identify as having a lived experience of mental health challenges\n\nWhat do we talk about in a group? \nA Listening Lounge Peer Support group goes for 1.5-2 hours. It has a flexible structure that allows time for: \n\nSharing a problem or issue that you may be struggling with\nListening and learning from others\nSharing wins/achievements\nHaving a cup tea/coffee and chatting with fellow attendees after group\nA mental health discussion topic or activity\nHearing about community events\, supports\, and services\, plus much more.\n\nAny questions? \nPlease email our Groups Supports Officer\, Laura at listeninglounge@comhwa.org.au.
