Welcome to Lisa and Aimee - new CoMHWA staff
CoMHWA is pleased to welcome two new staff to the team; Lisa Bailey who is undertaking the role of Project Coordinator (Education) and Aimee Sinclair who is our Project Coordinator (Liaison).
Lisa
Lisa says, “the moment I walked into the CoMHWA building I felt incredibly fortunate to have joined such an amazing team and organisation.” She believes strongly in the power of sharing and listening to stories of recovery and is excited to take on the role as Project Officer for the OurVoice4Change Project and to bring energy back to the Speakers Bureau.Lisa brings her own lived experience as well as many years working in the Human Services as a counsellor, educator and trainer. Lisa adds that she is a single parent of two spirited boys who constantly remind her of the importance of being light-hearted. She looks forward to connecting with the members of CoMHWA and to all future conversations.
Aimee
Aimee has been a member of CoMHWA and working alongside CoMHWA assisting individuals with decision making for a few years. In the Project Coordinator role, Aimee will be assisting CoMHWA to evaluate an exciting peer2peer program that provides peer support to individuals returning home after a hospital stay, and also providing peer support and evaluation for the Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work project.In addition to her work with CoMHWA, Aimee sits on the Mental Health Advisory Council and is about to commence a PhD drawing on mad studies since completing the invaluable Lived Experience Educator Unit run by Lyn Mahboub at Curtin University. Aimee says her personal medicine includes writing, gardening, and walks in her local community.
