The Value of Peer Support in Suicide Prevention
CoMHWA and Helping Minds have produced a Summary of Feedback from the Lived Experience Forum on Alternatives to Suicide (AtS), a USA model of peer-led support groups for people with thoughts of suicide. The summary is enclosed with this newsletter for you. CoMHWA and Helping Minds Lived Experience Forum was held as part of a series of public workshops and stakeholder forums featuring Alternatives to Suicide educators from the USA, hosted by Mercycare back in February. There is significant interest in taking this model forwards in Western Australia. CoMHWA has received an update from Mercycare to advise of their intentions to form a Steering Committee to support AtS to move forward in WA.Please click here to read this short summary.Video footage is also now available from the day:
