Update from the CoMHWA Board
On behalf of the CoMHWA Board we would like to thank everyone who attended the Annual General Meeting this week on Tuesday 20th October. It was great to see so many faces; CoMHWA founders, consumer leaders, individuals, associates and guests.
A special thanks goes to Dr Sophie Davison; Chief Medical Officer, Mental Health who gave a thought-provoking presentation on this new role at the Mental Health Commission. It was great to hear about the priorities for this new role and how Dr Davison agrees on the importance of community mental health services.
Welcome and Farewell
We would like to officially welcome Chris Jeong, John Dasey and Robert Blakeman to the Board. While they have been with us for a few months now as casual Directors, they were ratified last night and have now formally joined the CoMHWA Board.
While we welcome new faces, we must also say farewell to Neil Hackett, who has served two consecutive terms on the Board. Neil has taken on numerous roles while on the Board, serving as Chairperson for the last two years. Neil’s work over the last six years has been greatly appreciated by fellow Board members and CoMHWA staff. We wish Neil all the best for the future and hope to see him again soon at a CoMHWA event.
Finally, an update to members regarding the Board Executive Directors. With Neil completing his tenure on the Board, our Vice-Chairperson Veronica Lawrance has been voted on by fellow Board Directors as our new Chairperson. We warmly welcome Veronica into this role who has a wealth of knowledge in areas of Governance and Public Relations. Tracey Saggers has stepped into the role of Vice-Chairperson while our Secretary and Treasurer roles remain with Anne St Jack and Chris Jeong, respectively.
