Support an Increase to suicide prevention funding

Together we can gain government commitment to double suicide prevention funding

CoMHWA is calling on our members and supporters to support Lifeline’s suicide prevention petition. Lifeline, who receive over a million crisis calls a year, is calling on the Federal Government to double funding to suicide prevention. They hope to reach a target of 1 million signatures.Please sign the petition and share via Facebook or Twitter.The number of deaths by suicide is more than double the road toll, and yet government funding for road safety is double that for suicide prevention. Furthermore, while we have seen a 25 per cent decrease in the number of motor vehicle deaths over the past 10 years, the number of suicides has increased significantly in this time.
